And it (FINALLY) came to pass...

After 146 games, and over 120 days of practices,
the
2010-2011 Jacklin Family Basketball Season
has officially come to an end!

We played DEFENSE...
we learned how to sneak a reach...
we "GOT DOWN & MOVED OUR FEET!"
We played point guard....
and protected the ball...
and "saw the floor",
and "directed" our teams.
We took jump shots...
and foul shots,
we missed some, and MADE some!
We made Game Winning Shots at the buzzer!
We coached!
And we CHEERED!!
We tried to figure it all out!
We shared the number 3!
We played against friends....
and family!
And we got thoroughly EXHAUSTED!!

There are so many life lessons to learn...
and basketball teaches plenty!

This season we had:
good games, and bad games
things that were fair, things that were not
good news, and bad news
wins, and losses
sickness, and health
hard practices, and easy practices
made shots, and missed shots
smart coaches, and dumb coaches
games we gave it all we had, and games we didn't give much
good teammates, and selfish teammates
the list goes on and on.

There were days that we wanted to quit...
but in the end we are so glad we didn't!

The following clip is one of the warm fuzzies of the season. Number 55 is Zeke. He has been a manager for SHHS for the past 3 years. He is a Senior this year and was invited to dress at the last home game. Luckily, his team had a significant lead that he was able to get in the last minutes of the game.
Take note, of the awesome support of the crowd, his sweet teammates, and even the opposing team!

It's nice to know there really are GOOD things
that can happen when you play for the
LOVE OF THE GAME!!

Wow... that is a lot of basketball. I love it all though. It was so much fun to be a part of some of those events: having Jug as a coach, seeing Zeke, and cheering the Skyhawks along. Fun times.
