Presenting the New & MUCH Improved PAYSON POOL!

Since we have lived in Payson for almost 7 years we have spent our fair share of time (and money) at the Payson Pool. I would tell my kids it was like going back in time because the Payson Pool looked exactly like the old Pleasant Grove Pool I used to go to when I was their age!

Well, that has all changed this summer!! The NEW and MUCH improved Payson Pool opened this July! It is definately worth the long and much anticipated wait!! The kids love the slides and lazy river, my favorite part is the rubber floor! Kaycee just finished her third year of swim team, and Janey was able to be in the first group of swimming lessons at the new pool! Good things come to those who wait!! Now...where is the Payson Target??

Happy Birthday!!

Grandpa and Grandma Flinders both celebrate birthdays in July! Grandpa turned 74 on the 11th and Grandma turned 72 on the 24th! They are doing great! We feel so blessed to have them in our family's life! They set a great example for us and continue to give hours and hours of service and love to their family! Janey started this little sewing project at the last General Conference and we were able to finish it into this cute pillow for Grandma's birthday. I can remember Mom helping me learn how to do embroidery when I was little. I am thankful for the all the homemaking talents she instilled in me and hope to be able to pass those on to my three daughters as well! Happy Birthday Grandpa and Grandma...we love you both!!

Payson Astros 2008

Coleman just finished his first year of official
"Kid Pitch" Baseball. He was on the Payson Astros. This was a great experience for him! He had several of his friends on the team as well as meeting some great new kids, and thought Shane was an awesome coach! They won enough games to make it to the multi-city tournament.

They played hard, and had tons of fun along the way! He learned a lot and improved his skills. He said the highlight of the season was "being able to pitch, and hitting an 'In-The-Park Homerun' during the tournament!!"

(I love the ever-attentive base ump in the back, hmm... could he be texting?!)
We know well enough that even though this season is officially "over", Baseball is really never "done". There are still hours and games ahead of us, even if it is just Cole's "One Man Wiffle Ball HomeRun Derby To The Alfalfa"(which he participates in daily), or Backyard baseball with neighbors or cousins. The love of the game is definately being carried on!

Good Job Coleman...we love you!

Flinders Family Fun!!

Here is a photo sampling of the Lip Sync/Variety Show that we all enjoyed at our recent Flinders Family Reunion! This was definately a once-in-a-liftetime event that will be etched in our memories for a very long time!

And here is the much-awaited, sneak preview of Kenny & Dolly's Prime Performance!! (Luckily Kaycee was able to capture this with her digital camera. We will have to wait for more technical support to get the other performances ready for viewing!) This was a much-anticipated, and enjoyable summer event for our family...we all agreed with Janey when she said, "I think it is so cool that even though we are Jacklins we get to go to all of the Flinders' Parties!" Good Times! Don't forget to turn down the playlist while you enjoy the video clip!!

FHE Getaway!!

This past Monday we were able to have a very spontaneous Family Home Evening Adventure!! Jug surprised us with taking an extra day off and reserving a hotel in Park City!!
This has been our busiest summer so far...and even though we have been doing lots of fun things and have been involved in lots of great opportunities...we really haven't had any ALONE Family Time!
The stay was short and sweet...but just what we needed to regroup as a family! We actually got a pretty good start on school shopping as well. It was a very nice break from our usual routine!
Sometimes the unplanned activities are even better than the planned! And we can see that some things really are better than baseball!! (At least baseball practice...right Reed??!)

Now...back to the real world!!

Happy 4th of July!!

The 4th of July was fairly quiet for our family this year. After the Flinders Family Reunion we needed it!! We watched Reed play baseball and then came home and crashed!
Later in the evening we enjoyed lighting off our own fireworks with the neighbors! No formal "Cul-de-Sac of FIRE" this year...but the weather didn't really cooperate anyway! It was a nice simple evening and the kids had a blast!!
Coleman enjoyed having his turn at lighting the fireworks!!
The sparklers were a big hit with Janey and Abbie!
