Spring Sports Wrap Up

In addition to Reed winning the prized
MNJH Intramural "Softball Champion"Trophy this spring,
our family has been keeping busy with the usual spring sports!

Jug was right there helping out in the coaching department...
after Reed's coach had to quit for his job halfway through the season.
(He blames me for this...
back when I signed him up 10 years ago to coach Reed & Kaycee's soccer team...
he told me once you start it's hard to get out of it.
HE WAS RIGHT!! Sorry Dear!)

Reed was happy to see his name on the
Salem Hills Freshman Baseball team list!
He was one of 14 kept out of the 40 boys who tried out!

He has done a terrific job playing shortstop...
and is working on his swing!

Early this spring Coleman decided he was taking the year off baseball.
After a little encouragement AND coaxing from his coach...he reconsidered and committed to the Monday Night league. Once basketball ended, and he got into it...he is going at it full force!

After all, who wouldn't have a great time with a coach like this:

We all love Coleman's baseball team. They are great kids with good parents and dedicated coaches. He is loving every game now, and just forgot for a minute how fun it really is!

He has had the opportunity to pitch, catch, play 2nd,
and all of the outfield...which is his favorite!

His swing is coming along...
and he is finding ways get more "POWER".
(a story for another post!)

Looking good Coleman...we are proud of you for sticking to it!

Miss Janey was very excited to find out Salem City
offered Spring Soccer!
She was even more excited when she found out she would be on
Coach Camilla's team again!!

She is such a fun, dedicated coach...who really teaches the kids!

Janey did a great job, she tries hard and runs fast!
Her highlight of the season was scoring the game-winning goal
at the very LAST game!!
Lesson learned: NEVER GIVE UP!!

This was also Janey's first year to participate in the
Hershey Track Meet with
third graders from 7 different elementary schools!
She did a great job running the 200m, placing 4th overall.
She ran the 400m as well, and took first winning the GOLD medal!
(This was extra satisfying after her teacher told her class that
hardly ANYONE ever gets a medal!)

Good JOB Janey...we love your determination!!

And here is Abbie...
the number one family cheerleader at all of these events!
What a trooper she is! I am so glad to have a
buddy to bring with me!
And it won't be long...until she is out there on the playing field!

No update or pictures for Kaycee.
She took the spring off!
YAHOO!!
It won't be long...summer basketball and
soccer conditioning are right around the corner!
Let's hope some sunshine is too!
