So here is Kaycee's NEW Boot!!

But...she really is not!
And neither are we!
:(
So, here's the story.
A few weeks back...like 3 1/2 to be exact, Kaycee's team traveled out to Union for a soccer game. We did not. On the way home Kaycee called to tell us that they had won, but that she hurt her ankle during it and "it still hurt 'really bad' and was kind of swollen".
3 hours later when we picked her up from the High School and got her home we could see she was very right about the swollen part...but, she had also not bothered to let the coach or trainer know and had not taken the shin guard sleeve off or iced it. Since she was able to move it and put pressure on it we figured it was just a bad sprain.
We figured WRONG!
Last Friday, after a particularly long and hard practice, she went to the trainer and told her about the soreness of her ankle, which was still slightly bruised and swollen. After a short examination, she suggested an x-ray should be taken and that a fracture was likely.
She guessed RIGHT!!
Sadly, the x-rays showed a fracture slightly above the growth plate on her right ankle.
Happily, they showed the healing process was coming along nicely!
Unfortunately, a boot would be required for the next 2 weeks, and the remainder of the soccer season is undetermined.
So, there it is...sometimes you should "play through the pain"...
and sometimes you should get it checked out!!
(But, not too quickly if you want to squeeze in a few more soccer games!)
We are sad for you Kaycee...and hope it gets better FAST!

I'm sorry about your injury, Kaycee. I hope you're back to soccer sooner than later. And just for the record, Nick has had injuries that he hasn't shared with the coaches either. Haha It just shows how devoted and TOUGH you are.
That is horrible news. Perhaps she'll be ready for basketball season, though. So, does this mean you will be changing Monday's entry to "This is how we Roll ...ankles"??? ;) Take care, Kaycee! We are hoping for a speedy recovery!
We are sad too Kaycee - but you sure have cute toes and an adorable smile on your face. Hope you continue to heal Quickly!

Oh, Kaycee! I'm so sorry about your injury! What a trooper you are though! I know it's not much of a condolence, but at least it's only 2 weeks. Can you imagine being on crutches for the winter?! Yuck! Feel better soon!
