During December of 1993, our first Christmas as a married couple, Jug and I ventured out and cut down a fresh Christmas tree for our apartment! We had fun and decided this would become a family tradition. Well, the babies came and our enthusiasm for tracking down permits, standing in long lines to get them, and traveling in cold, snowy conditions in search of the perfect tree with a crew of little ones decreased! But, our desire and HOPE for coming back to this wanted tradition was always there! Well...this year, 16 years later, we discovered that Ephraim Canyon (only 45 minutes away) had permits available. So Saturday morning we woke up the kids and loaded them up (minus diapers, bottles, & binkis etc.) to go on the fresh tree hunt. We were successful in finding a great little pine to put in our basement! Lesson learned: Enjoy the seasons of life as they come...because they will surely go...our dreams will always wait for us! Happy Holidays!

It does look like the perfect tree! Cute picture. Hey . .
how 'bout them Aggies??
The change in the Google account worked. Your blog is fun as always. It is good to keep the old traditions as well as the new and there's nothing like the smell of a fresh cut Christmas tree.
I love the smell of frest pine!! I sure do miss it! I love you picture at the top of the blog!! Thanks for the invite!!
That doesn't look little to me! I can't wait to see it all dressed up in the basement. One of my favorite houses to visit during the holidays.
Love the tree... but love the experience even more. We've always enjoyed cutting one for you, but it's a tradition that is well worth starting on your own. It's one of my kids favorite every year.
