"Only Mom's Do That..."

The past several weeks have been emotional for me. Reed received the Aaronic Priesthood, Coleman and Abbie (refer to Abbie's Princess for a Day Post) had birthdays, then there was Mother's Day. This day is becoming more and more of an emotional wreck for me as my love and appreciation for my own mother deepens, as we miss Jug's mother more and more, and as I have more experience BEING a mother. This was apparent as I couldn't even get through the 'school made' gifts from my elementary aged children without choking up! Then my 2 mutual aged children, along with all the other youth in the ward, completed their assignment in Sacrament Meeting of expressing their feelings for their Moms. Not to mention my 3 primary aged children singing, "I Often Go Walking". Then we move on to Dance Recitals, Coleman's FIRST Kid-Pitch Baseball game, Kindergarten Graduation, 6th Grade Graduation, Kaycee receiving her Young Womanhood Recognition, and finally "THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL". The common thread with all these events is that they collectively represent that my five little children are GROWING UP! And I guess that realization is the trigger for many tears and lumps in my throat! Needless, to say my little ones have heard, "It's okay...Mommy is just happy" many times over the past few weeks as I haven't been able to "slow the flow" of emotions! The other day we were tending 2 little kids in our ward and when it came time to take them home the little 2 year old girl started to cry when she realized she was staying home and we (mostly Janey and Abbie) were going to be leaving. As we were driving home, I heard my 2 girls doing their best to analyze the situation. Janey said, "That was sad that Elizabeth was so sad we had to leave her." After a few seconds of quiet thought Abbie replied, "Maybe she was just crying because she was so Happy!"....without any hesitation Janey stated: "No she wasn't Abbie...Only Moms Do That."
